Let Us Know IF You Find Links Not Working
maoriorgnz
Tena koutou,

We have moved our site again to a new server - this has helped to speed up our site. To do this our beloved webmaster had to recode the whole site into another programming language then make the old links still work!

Hopefully we have got it all right, but if you find any sections or links that are not working, if you could kindly post either the URL or the page name here so we can get it fixed.

Tena koutou mo to koutou awhi!
Heoi ano,

Kia ora!

Wow the site is faster now - I love it Grin

Just wondering if there is something wrong with the whakapapa club - on the front page Last 7 Topics there are at the moment the same posts for all of them but on the Papa Panui there are 7 different posts?

Also at the Whakapapa Club the links for the email directories and Marae Directory are giving an error - the links to there are in the Other Resources Here link.

There used to be a list of names being researched - that seems to have disappeared?

Thank you for all the hard work!

Kia ora for that Poutokomanawa - I also just realised that the middle column at the whakapapa club has everything centered so will fix that too.

front page for whakapapa club working properly now and not all centered.

Just got the email directories to recode now - that was one I missed.

The Maori email directories for marae, kapa haka groups, Maori organisations and people are now back online at the whakapapa club

Still have to write the add and edit - need to tie that into the usernames here.

The lists of names being researched will have to be written - problem is that we have not enforced the format SURNAME, Firstname(s): Other Info which would produce the list of names being researched in alphabetical order. So it could look really messy.

ok I have drafted a Names Being Researched page - take a look at it and you will see what I mean about it being messy.

True - I see what you mean by messy - if I remember rightly with the old Whakapapa Club there were some of us that were given moderator status to change all of the titles of the posts to the SURNAME, Name: Other Information format - maybe that could be done again? I was given moderator status to do just that - I could do that again if you like? Smile

Kia ora for that poutokomanawa - however when a change is made it says that the post is edited by and the username - I don't think it would be good to have your username editing posts - it would be better if we do that.

However, we appreciate your offer Smile

No worries!

I was just checking out the archives - there are images missing from the forum lists page and also from some of the posts - I think they are the smileys? Grin

Hi,
I have done as requested twice re the Aveata thing.
The picture of the Bat has never shown up.
This I'll have to live with ah.
Thank you for your concerns.

maoriorgnz
Kia ora for that raw.

Is it the bat that you choose is did you choose another avatar?

I know that our webmaster has been working at trying to fix them, so in the meantime, if you let us know which one you want by giving is the category (Maori or Misc) and the image like row 4 number 3 I will get the webmaster to add it manually for you.

Hi thank you,all seems to be going ok now.
The Aviator was all ways the Bat.
An animal I learnt to trust while spending most of my working live in the interior of the Raukumara Ranges on the East Coast.
This animal lives in many ancient hollow trees deep in the native bush.
Tree such as Purere,Rata,or Pukatea,to name a few.
It was these trees that the black native wild bees make there hives in,as these trees when in full bloom encourage many kinds of foods for wild things to ether graze upon it's nectar from the flowers or the berries, but also many are hollow at ground level or some where above, places for hives for honey or homes for bats, and other wild ground dwellers such as Kokako,Weka, Kiwi or wild pigs,as will as over night men.
The Bats were my friends in a way,as they showed one for them to be near then hives may not be far as will.
Wild honey was a lovely food source for the tryer that was able to milk a hive with out waking up the owners as black bees sting seems to be stronger in bite then the other colour full bee.

Kia ora,

I found that if I post at the whakapapa club then the post does not show in the last 7 topics at the whakapapa Club, or the Papa Panui or the front of maori.org.nz but if I post at the Papa Panui it shows up in all three places.

I am not too sure if this is by design or by gremlin in the system Smile

hmmm some gremlin lurking - will go on a seek and destroy to get it out of the system....

gremlin now found and destroyed and has left the system so all working now

good spotting - had completely missed that one.

There may be posts that were started at the Whakapapa Club before this was found and fixed that will not show on the front page of maori.org.nz or the front of the Papa Panui but any after this date will.

I will have a quick look through the database and make manual changes for any that I can find.

Kia ora ano,

While searching in the Whakapapa club I went to click on one of the search results - it was for a list - and it came up with the page not found.

I went and checked in the lists and could find the page but can not access it from the search results.

All sorted now - the lists can be accessed from the search results at the whakapapa club

While playing with date settings I have somehow managed to muck up the dates of the posts on the front page of the Whakapapa Club

They are correct when viewing the individual posts as well as the last date for the forum of the Whakapapa Club, all through the Papa Panui and the front page of maori.org.nz

Will have to try and unplay what ever it was that I did ..... Frown
