Thread subject: maori.org.nz Papa Panui - Notices :: PERENARA (Black/Ward), Elizabeth Emily: Finding Whanau
Posted by _Anahera_ on 13-10-2016 04:17
I'm trying to trace my whakapapa and am hoping someone can help. I'm trying to find more info about Elizabeth Emily Perenara. Elizabeth was born in Whakatane, but was the adopted into the Ward whanau (Thomas and Eliza Ward nee McDonald and is recorded as Elizabeth Ward on her marriage and death certs). So not sure who real parents are. Elizabeth is my great grandmother.
Elizabeth married Alexander Black, their son Joseph Black is my Grandfather.
I would like to know more about the Perenaras from Whakatane and what iwi they belong to. Hope someone can help. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or reply to this post 😊

If someone could point me in the right direction, or know of anyone who I could talk to, that would be choice.
Would like to make that connection some how, even if anyone knows more about the ward whanau or black whanau in Whakatane.
