The Virtual Whare is a place where you can experience a virtual pohiri and move around in.

To view the virtual whare you must have:

  • Netscape 3 or higher
  • MS Explorer 4 or Higher
  • The Flatland rover plugin for the browser

Once you have downloaded and installed the plugin, (only 1.2mb) then you are ready to begin!

The arrow keys on the keyboard will move you in the directions of the arrows,

  1. the "a" key will look up
  2. the "z"key will look down.
Explore the virtual whare

Explore the virtual whare with sound.
This version takes a long time to load.

Let it all load, then wait until the putatara finishes, move forward and you will hear the karanga, pause at the door until that has finished then move into the whare and you will hear a tauparapara.
